finally

A few month and a long way but I managed to get the skeleton of my new Blog online.
You are right.. it is a skeleton.. it is not finished yet. And I hope it never will.
My plan is to improve it along my learning curve.

Some might realise that Blog(web log) is written in link
For me it is a Playground to test my Ruby skills. So be cruel to me and let me know about everything that sucks in this application.

But before you start I will just give a a brief overview of what it is actually capable.

Visible Stuff

• Obvious you can read that here.. so posting something
• Comments to the posts
• Atom Feed of the Blog and the Posts
• I integrated my Flickr Account for Picture Management
• Page management
• User/Login exists but my goal is to support OpenID/OAuth in the near future.

Thats about the visible part.
Under the hood I have used a lot of different techniques and Plugins

About the Technological Stack

• Rails at the current release
• authlogic for authentication
• simple_captcha for captcha on comments
• jquery as javascript framework
• memcached for caching
• MySQL as DB backend
• flickraw for flickr support
• and a lot of other small things.

I might write some posts about the way I have done certain things. Ask If you want to know something in particular.

So thats it for the first Post..
